Ambassador Nkoyo Esu Toyo has spent decades working across public service, diplomacy, legislation, civil society and community development.

Her professional journey spans law, civil society, legislative service, diplomacy, governance, public policy, institution-building and international development.

She served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Ethiopia, Djibouti and the African Union, and as a Member of Nigeria's House of Representatives.

She is also the founder of Gender and Development Action (GADA), an institution established to advance gender equity, economic empowerment and inclusive community development.

Across these different responsibilities runs a consistent belief:

Leadership exists to serve people.

Her public philosophy is grounded in intentional governance — government that listens before it decides, plans before it spends, accounts for public resources, builds institutions that work, and ensures that development reaches people and communities too often left behind.

Her story is therefore larger than an election. It is a continuing story of public service, advocacy and institution-building.

Women & Inclusion

A voice that has always stood for inclusion

Ambassador Toyo's advocacy for women predates her governorship campaign. Through civil society, public policy, legislation and GADA, she has advocated for women's participation, economic opportunity, dignity and protection.

But inclusion should not stop with gender. The broader principle is that development should reach people regardless of gender, disability, age, economic condition or geographic location.
